West Midlands Trains operates passenger trains on the West Midlands franchise between London and the English Midlands. They wanted to grow ticket sales on their West Midlands Railway and London Northwestern Railway sites but third-party sites were capturing the majority of relevant SEO traffic.
Through keyphrase research, we identified the need to create a page for every possible route they provided.
Over 33,000 routes pages were created and started to rank within the top 3 positions for the majority of relevant searches
68% increase in organic traffic.
Routes pages are now responsible for 25% of revenue on WMR and 15% on LNR.
