Strategic corporate communications, alongside proactive thought leadership, to build positive brand reputation for Yubo 

Yubo is a social live-streaming platform with a global, Gen-Z audience of over 60 million. The company needed a communications team who would help them navigate a complex regulatory and social environment, in light of the Online Safety Bill, incoming age verification requirements and pressure on big tech. 

The Challenge

We were tasked to build a communications strategy that would achieve two objectives: Position Yubo as a leader in online safety, and maintain a positive brand reputation.

Our Insight

Working closely with Clarity’s public affairs team, our communications team were laser focused on incoming regulation and keeping abreast of wider industry themes most prevalent for the UK press. This meant we could ensure Yubo showed up as a leader in these spaces. 

For example, online age verification received a lot of attention from politicians and journalists, so we honed in on Yubo’s innovative age verification software to showcase its positive influence on the sector.

Our Strategy & Solution  

While our insights and thought leadership propelled a thematic approach, we also drove a strategic corporate communications function that supported Yubo proactively in the news cycle. We worked closely with industry leaders like the National Centre for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC), the National Crime Agency (NCA) on comms strategies, while forging close relationships with national and trade press.
