The Chancellor, Rishi Sunak, today delivered the Autumn Budget which was expected to be fairly anticlimactic considering the unprecedented level of briefing to the press ahead of today. This did not go unnoticed by the Deputy Speaker of House. However, the Chancellor made a speech lined with optimism following the OBR's positive report on the UK's economic recovery from the Covid pandemic. These economic upgrades enabled Sunak make a series of announcements that will result in an increase to departmental spending of £150bn by 2024-25.
