On Sunday afternoon Boris Johnson launched the Conservative Party manifesto. Speaking in the marginal constituency of Telford, Johnson predictably focused on his party’s priority to “get Brexit done” whilst also attempting to portray his party as one of “sensible One Nation conservatism”.
Following Theresa May’s disastrous manifesto of 2017, the Conservatives have clearly attempted a low-profile and low risk document for this election. At just 64 pages in length and with no surprise announcements, the Johnson team are hoping that the manifesto launch will largely go under the radar.
