Global Mentoring Day: Connecting, Growing, and Thriving Together

What better way to celebrate Global Mentoring Day than by shining a spotlight on Clarity’s awesome mentoring program? Launched in 2023 and now an annual highlight, this initiative is all about building a global network where learning and growth go hand-in-hand.

For 2025 and beyond, connections are everything. Our mentoring program is designed to break down barriers and foster a culture of collaboration across our global offices. It's a 6-month journey where employees from all Clarity offices are given the opportunity to come together to share knowledge, experiences, and insights.

Alice Spraggon, Head of Editorial Content in Australia, described her experience as a mentor as, “incredibly rewarding as it has given me the opportunity to build close relationships with colleagues from different specialisms across the business.”

By connecting employees with experienced role models, we're creating a more inclusive workplace where everyone feels valued and supported. And the results speak for themselves: increased engagement, global collaboration, and a team  that's equipped to take on the challenges of tomorrow.

Our program is open to everyone, regardless of background or experience. We use a personalised matching process to pair mentors and mentees based on their unique skills, interests, and goals. This ensures that both the mentor and mentee are well-suited to each other, increasing the potential for a successful and fulfilling relationship. 

Over the past two years, we've seen firsthand the power of mentorship. We've witnessed incredible success stories, and we're excited to see what the future holds. The best testament to our program's success? The voices of our teams and their experiences.

Deepening relationships

The Global Mentoring Scheme gave me a sounding board independent of my immediate colleagues, but who understood the wider company and industry context, and could share their own experiences to help me solve challenges I was facing. It also gave me a connection to the global team, and made me feel part of the worldwide Clarity network.

This is the first time I joined the program, and I was very lucky to be paired with my mentor [a senior leader within the organisation]. Creating global connections

Clarity’s Global Mentoring Program has significantly enhanced my personal development by pairing me with an international mentor from within the company. The annual structure of the program allows us to zero in on specific development areas, which I find incredibly beneficial. I love how the program connects Clariteers worldwide, matching us based on our strengths and growth opportunities. Having a mentor who understands our business, yet offers fresh insights from a broader perspective, perfectly complements the support from my local line manager.

As a member of the senior leadership team I mentor members of my team across the clients that we work in and the media and political landscapes that we live in. What I enjoyed the most about the Clarity mentorship scheme was having the opportunity to step back from this and work with an individual in one of our international offices; taking away the common bond of clients and/or circumstance and breaking down and working together to find solutions to problems; or understanding barriers that my mentee was facing. For me, the Clarity mentoring program unlocked doors to new thinking and new ways of approaching challenges. Commencing work with my mentor has allowed me to pause and think about my priorities for my career and dedicate specific time to this with someone who has been able to help me troubleshoot along the way. So often when you're caught up in the day to day it is easy to keep thinking about the immediate next steps, rather than the goals well into the future. This program helped me step back and look at that with someone who was always on my side and happy to help guide me to where I hope to go next.
