2023’s King’s Speech opened a new Parliamentary session and set out the UK Government’s ideas and priorities for the year ahead.
This year’s Speech contained a number of important proposals – including on data protection, digital markets, autonomous vehicles, and fossil fuels, but left some people underwhelmed by what it had to say on renewables, AI, and health. The current Conservative Government in the UK is trying to open up clearer dividing lines with the Labour Opposition Party in advance of next year's election, as well as working to secure enthusiastic engagement from its voter base.
